<p>The multi-piston high-pressure pump has pump chambers (2, 3, 4) connected to the suction chambers by by-pass pipes (19, 20). The by-pass pipes of two pump chambers can be closed by a single valve body (25) which can be placed sealingly against each valve seat (22, 28) in each by-pass pipe. Thus when the valve body (25) is displaced initially it is first removed from one valve seat and on further displacement is removed from the other valve seat. The by-pass pipes are pref. mounted coaxially behind each other wherein the valve body moves along the common axis wherein the valve seat (28) of the by-pass pipe being opened later is formed by the cylindrical inner wall of the by-pass pipe against which the valve body (25) is held closed by the annular seal (27).</p> |
