The chamber for raising fish is a bell shaped perforated structure (2) with a smaller diameter cylindrical extension (9) at the top. The base of the chamber can rest on the bottom of a lake or the sea bed, and the top of the extension is connected to a buoy. To extract fish, the container is allowed to collapse thus forcing the fish inside to travel upwards inside the extension, and then out of its top into a net. At the junction between the chamber and its extension is a flap valve (19) consisting of a pneumatic ring (24) attached to a mesh grid (22) and suspended from a cable (12) so that is can be lowered for discharge. Around the outside of the junction is a ring (31) and inside is a second ring (27) which forms a seal with the pneumatic ring when the latter is in its upper position. |
