PURPOSE:To promote the formation of calcium chloride and to raise the efficiency of removing the hydrogen chloride gas, by introducing powdered lime into combustion gas in an incinerator for bringing the same into contact with hydrogen chloride gas contained in the combustion gas, and thereby forming calcium chloride on the surface of powdered lime. CONSTITUTION:In a stoker type waste matter incinerating furnace 1, the matter M to be incinerated, introduced into the furnace 1 from an inlet port 2, is incinerated under supply of air A while it is carried on stokers 3. In an exhaust-gas passage 5 extended from an exhaust port 4 to a smokestack, there are provided an exhaust-gas collecting chamber 6, heat exchanger 7 and dust collector 8 successively in this order. Further, at a high-temperature region (700-900 deg.C) in the incinerator 1 where combustion gas is passed, there are provided nozzles 9a-9c for injecting powdered lime at a rate corresponding to at least twice the chemical equivalent of hydrogen chloride gas produced by combustion of waste matter. With such an arrangement, hydrogen chloride gas is removed by bringing powdered lime and hydrogen chloride gas into contact with each other, promoting the reaction caused by their contact in chamber 6, and thereby forming calcium chloride on the surface of the powdered lime.
|
