<p>A machine for the prodn. of plastics blowmouldings, e.g. bottles, comprises a transfer device which receives a parison at an upper level, esp. from an extruder head, and delivers it to a vertically divided two-part blow mould at a lower position in a blow mould support. In the lower position a blowing mandrel blows the parison to produce the blowmoulding. The blowing mandrel, carrying the completed blow moulding, is then transferred on a slide from the blow mould closure unit horizontally in the direction of the blow mould dividing plane to a position tangential to a turntable comprising a number of seatings, the seating at the tangent point receives the blow moulding from the mandrel, and, as the turntable revolves cyclically in step with the blow moulding prodn. process, advances the complete blow mouldings at least to one subsequent treatment station. The blow moulding closure unit has horizontal guides for the blow mould support located only at the side remote from the mandrel slide. For the rapid prodn. of plastics blow mouldings, such as bottles, from esp. extruded parisons. By transferring each blow moulding while still hot and plastic onto a receiving turntable possessing a number of seatings for such blow mouldings, it is possible to remove the blow mouldings successively from the machine at the rate at which they are produced, without requiring waiting time for the blow mouldings to cool sufficiently for flash to be removed and other operations to be completed on them. By arranging the slides on the side remote from the mandrel slide unobstructed access for removal of the mandrel with blow moulding is provided.</p> |
