The feeder has a supply hopper containing the fertiliser pellets (or similar particles) and with holes in the bottom through which the pellets pass. A wheel is located beneath each hole and conveys the pellets as they leave the hole to a distributor. The wheel and its associated hole are arranged so that the hole is closed when the wheel is not rotating. A drive runs each wheel at a constant speed. A control circuit supervises the drive to keep the wheel speed constant. The feeder is simple and reliable and its feed rate can be controlled quickly and precisely.
