<p>The arrester mechanism for a lift, or lifting platform fits onto a load supporting bar, having an axially pre-loaded compression spring acting on a clamping body fitted round the bar. The body comprises a set of cone washers through which the bar passes, and on which the spring acts via a thrust ring, and which are released hydraulically or pneumatically in opposition to the spring. There are two or more packets of washers (11, 12), those in the one packet facing the opposite way to those in the other, and each packet has a separate thrust ring (4, 5).</p> |
