<p>The used paper is treated with a disinfecting gas during the initial sorting process. The material is then loosened and reduced to fibres for reuse in a paper mfg. process. The disinfectant is added to the air blowing through the old paper as part of the sorting process. The recommended disinfectants are ozone or chlorine. The process combats bacteria and unpleasant smells in old paper, which has been handled with other rubbish before recycling.</p> |
