<p>The device (1) connects one or more uninsulated branch cables (3) to an uninsulated main cable (2). The connector is in the form of a tiered sleeve having two portions of different diameters (4a,b). The sleeve is also formed in two longitudinal parts whose mating surfaces are shaped such that the two parts dovetail together by sliding them axially relative to one another. One part has a longitudinal through bore in which the branch cable is secured. The main cable sits in opposing grooves in the mating surfaces, combining to form a second through bore. Once assembled, secure connection is ensured by drawing the connector through a draw plate whose opening is of slightly smaller diameter than the smaller diameter connector portion. The drawn connector is of a constant diameter. This connector provides a sure connection regardless of how the various steps are carried out, with a visual indication.</p> |
