The duplex hydraulic crane is adaptable for several different lifting duties, and comprises two individual cranes whose jibs can be coupled together by a hinging joint, so as to form a single crane of double or more lifting capacity at the same working radius. The uppermost jib then takes the tension load and the lowermost one the compression load, and when coupled together no derricking is possible. Lifting spreaders allow easy changeover to handling heavier loads.
