The air distributor for a ventilation system for a hall or other building requiring large quantities of air, has a duct (4) connected to a nozzle (5) by an intermediate connection (1) with rotary joint (2,3) at each end. The planes of the two joints can be at an angle of 15 degrees to each other. The nozzle can also be at an angle of 15 degrees to the rotary joint (3), on which it is mounted. The two rotary joints can be locked at a required position. These discharge members can be horizontal and connected at the inlet end to a sound deadening bend with an air supply connection. The interior of the bend can be perforated, with sound absorbing material between the inner and outer layers. The connection can be of a rotary type.
