PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution of a detector, by installing a counter which counts the number of words between the prescribed error bit and the next one among those added to each word of each restored original word block. CONSTITUTION:The analong signal is converted into the digital signal to be supplied to the encoder 2. In the encoder 2 the error check word is added to the end of each data block and then supplied to the transmission medium 3 such as a VTR or the like after a fixed change given to the arrangement. Receiving the output of the medium 3, the decoder 4 detects the error via the error check word and with every word block to add the fixed error bit. After this, each word arrangement is restored and the distance between error words is detected by the check bit in each word block to give a correction to the error word. In this case, the counter 12b counts the number of words existing between a specified error bit and the next one among the error bits. Thus the distance between the error words can be detected. |
