PURPOSE:A microorganism capable of producing purine nucleoside-5'-monophosphate (A) is made to act on purine nucleoside and acetylphosphoric acid in an aqueous solution to produce the objective substance A by high-efficiency phosphorylation. CONSTITUTION:A microorganism belonging to Pseudomonas, Enterobacter or others and being capable of producing substance A from purine nucleoside and acetylphosphoric acid, such as Erwinia herbicola ATCC14537, is provided. Then, the microorganism is made to act on purine nucleoside and acetylphosphoric acid in an aqueous solution or culture medium to effect the phosphorylation, thus producing the objective substance A. Usually an enriched culture medium containing carbon source, nitrogen source, minerals and others is used for cultivation and the temperature and pH are, e.g., 20-40 deg.C and 5-8 respectively. The substance A formed is separated using a usual ion-exchange resin and purified. |
