PURPOSE:To allow a rust preventive to show superior rust preventing power to various kinds of alloys with low toxicity by using an alkylvinyl ether-maleic acid deriv. low copolymer having a narrow polymn. degree distribution and represented by a specified general formula. CONSTITUTION:This rust preventive is an alkylvinyl ether-maleic acid deriv. low copolymer having a narrow polymn. degree distribution and represented by the general formula. In the formula, R is C1-20 branched unsatd. alkyl, each of X and Y is H, an alkali metal, NH4 ion, amino or alkyl, and the average number (n) of repeating units is 3-10 and 11-several tens when at least one of the alkylvinyl ether and maleic acid deriv. in each repeating unit is a bulky monomer and both of them are not bulky monomers, respectively. |
