The rocket propulsion jet has a nozzle (1) with a throttle passage (10). The nozzle (1) is fitted to the combustion chamber (2). The outside of the nozzle (1) has a spherical section (13) on the outside of the throttle passage. The nozzle is located inside a collar (23) held in the combustion chamber. The collar has an internal spherical surface (230). The nozzle is carried on a hydraulic cushion (3). The hydraulic system consists of a flexible inflatable ring pressurised from an outside source.
