Small bore tube prosthetics - having core which receives coating plus polymer and outer polymer covering before removing core

Tubes, with outer layer from plastics or latex, are made with small bore and with an inner lining, partic. for prosthetics or other blood tubes. The inner lining is of material other than plastics, pref. inorganic- and is first deposited on a cylinder (e.g. by vacuum); a plastic layer, or one contg. chemical gps. to bond to the tubing, is applied on top (e.g. by sputtering, ion plating or vaporisation or as plasma); an outer covering of plastics or latex tubing is then applied (e.g. by dipping, spraying, casting, fine spray, shrink- fitting) and the innermost cylinder is removed. Process suitable for making very thin lined tubing e.g. for blood, catheters, optical fibres or anti-corrosion tubes with conducting liner.
