<p>The engine comprises a rotor (1) containing a number of circumferentially spaced axial cylinders each with a piston (3) carrying a displacement body (2). Ignition of an explosive mixt. in the lowermost cylinder forces the displacement body into a liq.-filled chamber (4) and the buoyancy resulting from the displacement produces an upward force to rotate the rotor. Near its uppermost position, the piston (3) with body (2) is returned by a cam face, and compression takes place. The process is repeated when the cylinder again reaches its lowermost position.</p> |
