The floor cum ceiling is made up of parallel beams (1) which support fire-resistant receptacles (11) consisting of a metallic lattice. Flooring sections (21) and or thermally insulating plates (15) are positioned in these. A strip (31) of the same material as the receptacles, covers the joint (35) between and parts of the lower faces of the receptacles. A layer of plaster (40) extends over the strip (31) and the exposed parts of the receptacles. Each receptacle has shaped edges (10,19) supported by the flanges (6) of the beams (1).
