PURPOSE:To replace a tool automatically when its life comes near an end by a method wherein tools of different types are provided by several pieces every type and the life and the applying sequence of every type of the tool are stored. CONSTITUTION:A roll of paper tape 1a where the applying sequence and the replacing frequency of a tool are punched is mounted on a tape reader 2, read in it and stored in a memory 6. When processings due to a processing program are executed by the preset tool replacing frequency, a tool replacing instruction is given. At the same time that a flip-flop 27 is set and a tool replacement is indicated and is instructed. When a new tool is mounted and a tool-replacement completion is indicated, the flip-flop 27 is reset. |
