摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To obtain a melt sprayed surface layer excellent in scuff resistance and wear resistance by plasma melt spraying powder consisting mainly of Fe powder and Mo powder with an addition of powder of self melting alloy composed of specified quantity of Ni, Cr, Si, C and B. CONSTITUTION:A material consisting of 25-50% Mo, 40-65% Fe, 1.5-2.5% C, 3-10% Ni, 0.9-2.5% Cr and 0.35-1.0% Si +B (of which 0.2-0.6% Si) is plasma melt sprayed on the surface of machine parts such as piston rings, cylinder liners etc. that make sliding motion at a high speed to form a melt sprayed surface layer that has strong combining power and excellent in scuff resistance and wear resistance. This melt sprayed layer is formed of a structure consisting of 85-94% of metal matrix composed mainly of Fe-Mo-Ni and 6-15% of Cr3C2, 30-105mu in particle diameter and relatively low in hardness, dispersed in the matrix. This is a hard layer excellent in wear resistance without deteriorating scuff resistance and gives little wear to a material in contact with it.</p>
