The short circuit rings and their fastening on switching magnets are exposed to various very high requirements, combining a high electric conductivity with mechanical strength for a very large number of switching operations. For this purpose a laser welding is used for securing the short circuiting rings to magnetic cores, or armatures, of both solid or laminated type. When the short circuiting ring is to be inserted in grooves of pole surfaces, the ring is secured in the grooves by a number of spot welds, or by a seam weld, using a laser radiation directed orthogonally to the pole surface of the magnetic core. When the ring is formed by a suitable piece of wire, annularly bent and welded at abutting ends, laser welding is also used for the wire section it ends after has been inserted in the pole surface grooves.
|
