PURPOSE:To obtain bias light without causing any increase of the power consumption, by using a heater as a light source of bias light, and using a target made of a material which is photosensitive to the light of the infrared region. CONSTITUTION:When a heater 4 is turned on, the light of the infrared region which is discharged from the heater 4 passes through the opening end of a shielding plate 5, it is reflected by a glass case 2 and both electrodes in large quantity, and it falls upon a photoconductive film 14. The photoconductive film 14 is, for example, a ZnSe-Zn1-XCdXTe(In) film, that is made of a material which is highly sensitive to the light of the infrared region. Through the means mentioned above, a photoelectric current of bias light which suffices for the reduction of the residual image can be obtained. |
