PURPOSE:To obtain a gradation image stably at low cost and at high speed with low power by fixing the relative positional relationship of a heat transfer body and an electrode head and supplying signal currents. CONSTITUTION:An electrode head section 1 has a constitution in which a plurality of electrode needles 11, 12 are arranged vertically in one or two rows in a supporter 13, while copper, brass, tungsten, etc. are used as the material of the electrode needles 11, 12, and the electrode head section 1 is manufactured by burying the electrode needles into the heat-resistant supporter 13 composed of ceramics, glass, BN, etc. On recording, the electrode head 1 and a heating transfer body 2 are fixed, and a heat-generating section 22' is heat-generated by signal currents fed from the electrode needle 11 while making an image receiving body 3 travel, and the coloring matter of a coloring material layer is shifted and recorded to the image receiving body. One image plane is formed under said state, the heating transfer body is step-fed by a feed mechanism 5, by a distance of one line or more in the sub-scanning direction of the electrode head, an unused heating transfer body section and the image receiving body section are abutted against each other, and recording at the next stage is conducted. Accordingly, stable gradation recording is acquired at low cost. |
