RAN 4019/78 Compounds of the general formula I , wherein R represents an alkyl or alkoxyalkyl group, and their salts can be manufactured by reacting a corresponding 2-amino-4-pyrimidinecarbamate-3-oxide with phosgene followed by optional salt formation. These compounds and salts possess long-lasting valuable vasodilating and/or blood pressure-lowering properties and are accordingly suitable for the treatment of vascular-conditioned hypertension or as vasodilators in the case of peripheral blood supply disorders.
