The device for fastening a printing disc (1) in a printing mechanism comprises a selector shaft (13) intended to put a selected character (8) in the path of a striking member (19). This fastening device comprises a casing (4) containing the printing disc (1) mounted pivotably on a bearing (2) of the said casing (4). A housing (17) for this casing is made in a stationary part (18) of the printing mechanism facing the selector shaft (13). The latter carries a centring member (22) and a coupling member (23) intended to interact respectively with a corresponding centring member (21) of the casing and a corresponding coupling member (24) of the printing disc during an axial displacement of the selector shaft (13) in the direction of the housing (17) of the casing (4). <IMAGE>
