<p>A lever-section plug for sealing or venting a passage in a vacuum seal lid, e.g. as used for a domestic insulating flask, is shaped so that a spherical tip mounted between a pair of supporting caps forms a seal against the rim of a circular hole provided in a flat surface or the lid. The sphere is drilled so that one position of the lever aligns the hole with the opening in the lid; in other position of the lever the sphere plugs the opening. Pref. the lever and/or the supporting caps are made from an elastically deformable material, specifically polyethylene, to generate the required seal pressure between sphere and opening.</p> |
