The heating system using heat exchange tubes buried underground, uses two sets of tubes to form two circuits which can be used independently or combined in various ways. The first set consists of sloping rods (5) which fan outwards from two header tubes (7) at an upper level. The second set is formed by horizontal tubes (9) forming a rectangular loop enclosing the first set, but at a higher level. The two circuits are connected to a set of valves etc. so that they can be operated to collect or distribute heat for different purposes which can be controlled by the weather conditions at different times of the year.
