PURPOSE:To inspect the normalcy of an error correction code generating function and error detecting and correcting function as they are in use without increasing the number of bits of an additional correction code. CONSTITUTION:When test indication TST is supplied at transmission side (a), the test indication data code is inputted from test indication data transmitting circuit 1 to error-correction-code adding circuit 2. On the other hand, the bit of the test bit position of an output code from error-correction-code adding circuit 2 is inverted by applying test-bit-position information TST, BP to test-bit inverting circuit 3 and then transmitted. At reception side (b), test-indication-data-code detecting circuit 6 checks whether the data is test indication data or not and when so, position-information comparing circuit 8 compares error-bit-position information with test indication contents to check the propriety. |
