The scales have a mosaic printer for providing a ticket (8) indicating the price and the weight of the goods, the price per unit weight and the date. The price calculation unit has a photoelectric reader which scans a label providing a description of the goods, to allow the mosaic printer to print this description on the price label (8). The price calculation unit also includes a circuit providing the respective price per unit weight for the goods from the character sequence supplied by the reader. Pref. the price calculation unit also has a display for indicating the price per unit weight and a display for indicating the actual weight of the goods placed on an integral weighing pan.
