<p>A moisture seal for massive structural walls, esp. for the walls of concrete tunnels, consists on the side to be protected of a sealing following by a parting layer. The sealing layer includes an adhesive hydrogel, such as an aq. monomer combination on an acrylate or acrylic resin basis with an addn. of oxidants (ammonium peroxide disulphate), and reducing agents (sodium salt of hydroxy methane sulphinic acid). The parting layer is a fibre mat or open-pored plastic foam which can absorb the hydrogel. The new sealing method eliminates the seepage of water from any fissure in the parting layer to distant cracks in the inner concrete shell.</p> |
