A luminaire for illuminating works of art either for exhibition purposes or for repairing damaged sections or detecting forgeries has a corrugated reflector 4 with two sets of lighting tubes 5, 8 of different colour composition mounted one set each side of the reflector in the corrugations thereof and prismatic screens 12 for each set of tubes to diffuse the light emitted therefrom. Selected ones only of the tubes in each set may be energised to vary the intensity and different coloured filters employed for each set to change the colour composition of the emitted light. <IMAGE> |
