Transmission gearing for a tractor having only two driven axles includes a multiple-disc clutch 13 for disconnecting the drive to the front axle. The clutch 13 transmits only a limited torque so as to permit slight differential action between the front and rear wheels, and includes sintered linings running in oil to prevent over-heating. An input pinion 1 meshes with a gear-wheel 2 which drives the rear wheels 5, 6 through a differential 4 and planetary reduction gearing 7, 8, and the front wheels 19, 20 through gear-wheels 9, 10, 11, the clutch 13, gear-wheels 14, 15, a propeller shaft 16 and a differential 18. |
