The printing plates processing equipment has the plates located in a horizontal position in a vertical stack and passed singly through the processing stage (2) and into a similar magazine stack. The stacks (15) are trolleys so that the heavy, sensitive plates are easily moved through the different processing stages. The trolleys allow a low cost handling of the plates in a small printing works. The processing stages are flanked by the trolleys, with vertical indexing controls moving the plates from one trolley, through the process and into the next trolley.
