摘要	PURPOSE:To improve the suitability of a case hardening steel to carburizing by slightly raising the C content of the steel, raising the Mn content, and slightly lowering the Cr content to adjust the hardenability. CONSTITUTION:This rapidly carburizing steel with superior carburizing characteristics has a novel composition consisting of, by wt., 0.15-0.30% C, <=0.35% Si, 0.80-1.30% Mn, 0.60-1.00% Cr, <=0.50% Mo, 0.020-0.040% Al and the balance Fe and inevitably contained impurities.
