Swarf removing conveyor for machine tool - has curved frame members which form chain guides

The conveyor for removing the swarf produced by a machine tool consists of an endless chain with hinged plates mounted on the chain links. The frame supporting the conveyor has a lower horizontal section (A) and an upper horizontal section (C) joined by a sloping section (B). A motor (M) is mounted in the section (C) and a turn round sprocket (37) is fitted at the end U of the lower section (A). The chain rollers (14,15) run in channels formed in the outer edges (21,22) of a U section member (11) which forms the base of the conveyor frame. This U section member is bent to a circular arc concentric with the turn round sprocket (37). This utilisation of the frame structural members as chain guide members produces a compact conveyor design.
