PURPOSE:To improve the frequency temperature characteristics, by selecting the length, width and thickness in the direction of the X-axis, Z'-axis and Y'-axis respectively of an AT-cut quartz oscillator and thus securing a specified value for the length, width and thickness. CONSTITUTION:The AT-cut quartz oscillator 1 is obtained by rotating the quartz counterclockwise by theta=35 around the X-axis and with the forward direction of the X-axis of the quartz turned to the front. Then the length l, width W and thickness (t) of the oscillator 1 are selected in the direction of the X-axis, Z'-axis and Y'- axis respectively. Then the coordinate point (w/t, l/t) with (width w/thickness t) and (length l/thickness t) set to the lateral and longitudinal axes is selected to be within a square formed by points A (2.39, 8.4), B (2.60, 8.4), C (2.84, 7.9) and D (2.47, 7.9), respectively. |
