发明名称 Magnetische Gedaechtnissteuerung fuer Bueschelmaschinen
摘要 1,059,290. Tufting machines. ELLISON TUFTING MACHINERY Ltd. Oct. 25, 1965 [Nov. 30, 1964], No. 48543/64. Heading DIG. [Also in Divisions G3 and H4]. Pattern control is effected in a tufting machine by scanning a pattern by photo-electric means, converting the resulting signals into information bits which are stored in a magnetic memory, and subsequently employing the stored information to control the pattern-producing mechanism of the machine. As shown, a rotary drum. 1, containing a lamp 21, carries a pattern 2 scanned by a photo-cell 6 traversed axially of drum 1 by a rotary screw 23. Circumferential dots 3, equal in number to the number of tufting neodles, are scanned by a photo-cell 7. A single dot 4 is scanned by a photocell 8. Photo-cells 6, 7 and 8 are connected via the contacts 9, 25 and 24 respectively of a changeover switch to a magnetic storage 16 of the matrix type, photo-cells 7 and 8 connected via an impulse-producing device 17. Information bits for controlling the supply of yarn to the row of needles are thereby stored in matrix 16 at each revolution of drum 1. On completion of the scanning of pattern 2, the contacts 9, 24, 25 are changed over and the tufting machine is operated, whereby, at each descent of the needle bar, an impulse is applied to device 17 for effecting the scanning of a row of bits in matrix 16. The result of each such scan is transferred to a register 18, the output leads 20 of which are connected to brake solenoids adapted to control the pressure on the yarn fed to the respective needles for producing either long or short tufts. It is stated that the magnetic memory may alternatively be a magnetic tape.
