The articulated frame for a relaxation seat or bed comprises two parts which are articulated to each other. These two parts interact respectively with an end of a lever which is itself articulated on a support. In order to ensure, on the one hand, efficient locking of the lever, and consequently of the two parts of the bed or of the seat and, on the other hand, easy unlocking so as to enable the relative positions of the two parts of the bed or of the seat to be changed, a strap (22) has been provided, the ends of which are fixed respectively to the ends of the lever. Two excentrics forming a cam (17, 18) are subjected to the action of return springs (27) and arranged so as to lock the strap (22) against a bearing plate (21) by self-clamping with opposite action. Each excentric has a lever arm (28) intended to be actuated by an excentric (31) causing the excentrics (17, 18) to pivot in order to release the strap (22). <IMAGE>
