Aerostatic balloon for exploration of planet atmosphere - carries altitude stabilising liquids changing between liquid and vapour states to maintain predetermined altitude

The balloon has a flexible envelope and circulates with the wind at predetermined altitudes to permit exploration of the atmosphere of a planet. The balloon carries scientific instruments and is preconditioned before flight to the planet to maintain a given altitude. A carrier balloon and a stabiliser balloon are firmly attached to a nacelle which carries the scientific instrumentation. The stabiliser balloon may be separate or within the carrier balloon and both are constructed of a polymide material. The carrier balloon contains a water vapour to produce an ascending force while the stabiliser balloon contains a liquid of which the change of phase from liquid to vapour or vapour to liquid is a function of the pressure and temperature. This generates a force which directs the balloon upwards or downwards to maintain a particular altitude.
