The space heater has an electromotor (1) driving a fan (2) and a heating matrix (4,5) located in the air flow from the fan. The heating matrix has two or more heating levels and consists of two or more plane-parallel heating elements one behind the other. The heating element corresponding to the smaller or smallest power is located nearest to the outlet of the space heater. The larger or largest power is realised by connecting the heating element in parallel. The motor's power is the same for large and small heating powers.
