<p>The bicycle luggage carrier has a base frame with two parallel longitudinal tubes, connected by several struts, forming the supporting surface for the luggage. The two extreme struts carry the spring loaded front fla and rear flap with their lowest horizontal element hinged on the respective strut. Similarly, on the two parallel base tube elements and side flaps are hinged with a spring loaded operation. In all cases the springs act on the flaps in a given direction to fold the flaps flat onto the base. Both the front flap and the rear flap have their vertical edges angled-over by parts which overlap the respective adjacent vertical edges of the longitudinal flaps. At the same time shaped parts of the edge elements on flaps engage with the adjacent vertical elements of longitudinal flaps.</p> |
