PURPOSE:To prevent the light of an electric-discharge lamp from being entirely suppressed by connecting a discharging gap, which works until high-pressure electric discharge is recovered, electrically parallel to a high-pressure electric-discharge tube, and placing the discharging gap within an outer tube in which the high-pressure electric-discharge tube is installed. CONSTITUTION:A high-pressure electric-discharge tube 8 glows when an electric- discharge lamp is connected to a power source 23 through a stabilizer 22. If a stable light of the high-pressure electric-discharge tube 8 is stopped by, for exmaple, a temporary drop of the source voltage, a discharging gap 13 instantaneously works to discharge light, thus preventing the light of the electric-discharge lamp from being entirely suppressed. |
