<p>PURPOSE:To allow cylindrical vanes to rotate around their own axes by producing whirlwind phenomena in these vanes through revolutions of the vanes and by making use of the energy of this whirlwind. CONSTITUTION:When a windmill is allowed to operate under the state that it receives wind at its front, the air inside cylindrical vanes 5 shifts toward their foremost parts by the centrifugal force and is exhausted out of the openings. As a result, air flows into the vanes 5 from their base openings, and a stream directed from the base to the foremost is generated in every vane. When passing ribs 6', the stream is baffled by the ribs 6' and converted into an whirl which acts on the ribs 6' to give them rotary motive, so that the vane 5 with ribs 6' is put into rotation around its own axis. Thus, these whirlwind phenomena increase their action as the vanes 5 revolve at higher speed, i.e. as the centrifugal force on the air in the vanes becomes atronger. The torque in rotation of the vanes around their own axes is transmitted to a generator 9 through an output shaft 7.</p> |
