PURPOSE:To control the shape of the rolled material, by making the diameter of the upper work roll small, by shifting the center of the upper work roll to the downstream side of the rolling line, by installing the intermediate roll between the upper backup roll and the upper work roll, and by attaching the push roll to the upper work roll. CONSTITUTION:The upper work roll 1 is made in small diameter, and its central axis is shifted to the downstream side of the rolling line; the intermediate roll 5 is installed between the upper backup roll 3 and the upper work roll 1 so as to put its center on the vertical line including the center of the lower work roll 2. During the rolling work by this rolling apparatus, the work rolls 1, 2 cause the distortion so as to escape toward the shifted side. For carrying out the shape control by utilizing this distortion, the transfer device 10 is operated so as to adjust the pushing force of the push roll 6 against the upper work roll 1 through the backup rolls 7 separately; hereby, the displacement of the pushing force is transformed into the vertical displacement of the upper work roll 1, and the distortion of the upper work roll 1 can be freely adjusted at its each position along the longitudinal axis. |
