The spring joint is for a resilient mining support of trough sections, the ends of the latter fitting one inside the other. A spring component (30) has a curved spring stirrup (35), fitting positively at one end over the boss (101) of the uppermost trough section (10) and coupled at the other to a toggle catch (40). The latter bears against the underside of the boss (11) on the lowermost trough section (11) at a point outside those at which the spring component acts (34) against the uppermost section and at which (33) the catch hinges on it, and lies against the outside wall of the lowermost section.
