Spray booth with water curtain - has heat pump to recover heat from waste water

The spray booth (10) is supplied (11) with fresh air which is heated to the right temp. by heat exchanger (13). Excess paint spray is removed by water (14) which is then purified in coagulating vessel (16). The purified water is returned to the spray booth. A heat pump circuit (20) containing refrigerant consists of compressor (19), heat exchangers (21,24) and reducing valve (23). It is arranged to transfer heat from the used water in vessel (16) to the air heater arrangement (13) to assist in heating the incoming air. Overall energy consumption is thus reduced.
