The machine cuts a block of porous concrete while still in the plastic state, having a rectangular bed, and a frame sliding horizontally on rails at right angles to one side of the bed and supporting a cutter unit. The frame (9) is lockable to a truck (5) movable in the lengthwise direction of the bed (1) and lockable in position, the frame guide rails (8) being mounted on the truck. The cutter unit (14) is mounted on a slide movable vertically on the frame, and is in the form of a compass saw, with a horizontally-reciprocating saw blade (18).
