A non-rotatable machine part (6) of the device, e.g. the ram of a punch, is supported resiliently in its starting position and is moved downwards counter to the spring force, via a ball (4) by a rotatable disc (1). This axial movement of the machine part (6) is triggered by a plunger (10), which pushes the ball (4), in an opening (9), against an annular track (3) until it reaches the level of an entry (7) to a ramp (5). After the retraction of a stop (11), the ball is driven along the ramp (5) by the disc (1), the machine part (6) thereby being pressed downwards until the ball (4) falls into the opening (9) again. This makes a possible an interruption to the axial movement while maintaining the rotary movement of the disc (1). <IMAGE> |
