The steering gear comprises a casing 1 housing a steering nut 2 with rack-like teeth 2A meshing with straight, cylindrical teeth 4 of a sector-carrying shaft 3. The shaft 3 is mounted in the casing by eccentric bushes 5, 6 via roller bearings 7. The bushes are constructed as bearing covers and serve, during assembly of the steering gear, to adjust the shaft transversely to its axis to take up clearance between its teeth 4 and the teeth 2A of the steering nut. The bushes are rotated for adjustment purposes via grooves 14 and are secured axially by locking rings 8, 9. Annular recesses 10, 11 in the bore of casing or in the bushes form annular gaps between the bushes and the casing. Transverse bores 12, 12A and 13, 13A in the casing provide access to the respective gaps from outside which are filled via the bores with a hardenable, liquid plastics. <IMAGE> |
