Process for the continuous production of a transformation product of an enzymatic reaction

Process for the continuous preparation of a transformation product by means of extracellular enzymes, there being continuous introduction of an enzyme solution and a substrate solution into a reaction tank (1). The transformation product generated in the reactor (1) is continuously separated from the enzyme by an ultrafilter (3), and the enzyme in the remaining retentate is continuously returned to the reactor (1). The filtrate containing the transformation product is passed either directly or through further reaction stages and then led away from the filter. The substrate is exhausted and the activity of the enzyme is substantially utilised by carrying out the reaction in a multistage countercurrent fashion.
