PURPOSE:To enable an optical temperature measurement of an arc-welded part by detecting a beam of light radiated from the reverse side of the arc-welded part by a photodetecting method. CONSTITUTION:Inert gas is blown out of inert-gas container 7 via pipe 2 to generate an atmosphere of inert gas in enclosure 13. Electric current is fed from electric power source 9 to electrode 8 to form arc between electrode 8 and butt part 14 for welding. At this time, a beam of light that corresponds to the welded part is radiated from the reverse side of butt part 14 and the beam strikes the tip of optical fiber 3 and is then led to radiation thermometer 5 via optical fiber 3 to perform an optical temperature measurement, so that indicator 6 may indicate the temperature. |
